5 Large-Cap Worst Decliners for 2012 – (HPQ, SNE, DELL, EXC, CHK)

2012 has ended and many of you may like to know which large-cap companies have failed to excite investors with their negative annual performance.

For the year 2012, Hewlett-Packard Company(NYSE:HPQ) was the worst performer with a downbeat performance of -43.11%. The stock, as of last close, traded 26.74% up from its 52 week low and was -51.15% behind its 52 week high. Its latest closing price was -22.74% below the SMA200 while the distance from SMA 50 and SMA 20 was +4.31% and +1.73% respectively.

The stock was up 17.62% from the 52 week low and was -43.88% below the 52 week high.

The 2012 performance of Exelon Corporation(NYSE:EXC)remained-27.37% with a decline of -15.13% in the last three months and -27.57% in the previous twelve months. Its price, as of the latest close, was 4.72% up from the 52 week low and was -28.27% below the 52 week high. Its latest closing price was -15.34% down from an average-price of 200 days while it kept its distance from the SMA 50 at -4.39% and +0.10% compared with the SMA 20.

Chesapeake Energy Corporation(NYSE:CHK) moved down -24.14% for 2012 and its monthly performance stands at -5.19%. The stock was up +25.89% from the 52 week low and was -35.44% below the 52 week high. Its latest closing price was -10.91% down from an average-price of 200 days while it kept its distance from the SMA 50 at -7.42% and -2.26% compared with the SMA 20.
