Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) — which just settled a Lehman-related lawsuit with Barclays PLC (ADR) (NYSE:BCS) — has shed 13% since touching a multi-year high of $55.28 in early January, with the stock now trading at $48.11. Nevertheless, option players have gambled on a rebound over the next few weeks. HSBC Holdings plc (ADR) (NYSE:HSBC) selected Jonathan Symonds, former CFO of Novartis AG, as chairman of its European retail banking unit HSBC Bank PLC. The firm reported Mr. Symonds’s selection will be for an initial three-year term which, subject to re-election by shareholders, will end at the conclusion of the 2017 annual general meeting.
