Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOG) Android operating system is beating Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s iOS in smartphone advertising traffic in Q4 with 35.9% vs. Apple’s 28.7%, according to a report by Opera Mediaworks. But in mobile ad revenue, Apple still leads with 40% vs. Android’s 30.1%. Thanks to iPad’s tablet dominance, all of Apple’s iOS devices took 43.4% of mobile ad traffic vs. 37.7% for Android devices. Apple shares rose 1.6%, Google climbed 1.1%. Facebook (FB) and other social networking sites were the top for mobile ad traffic, but music and video sites generated the most mobile ad revenue. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock opened at $540.99 in last trading session, and closed at $549.07, trading in the range of $540.42 – $550.07. The stock showed a positive/negative weekly performance of 2.49%.

Third Point, the hedge fund run by activist investor Daniel Loeb, has taken a significant shareholding in The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) and is urging the company to explore a spin off of its petrochemical business so it can concentrate on being a specialty chemicals firm. The Dow Chemical Company (NYSE:DOW) shares closed at $45.93 on last trade day, by gaining 6.64%. Stock 52 week range is $29.81 – $46.70. Company’s market capitalization is $55.71 billion.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) confirmed Tuesday it plans to sell most of its Canadian real estate, but new chief executive John Chen pledged to keep its headquarters in Waterloo, Ont. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) stock climbed 9.36% and finished the last session at $9.93. The EPS of the stock remained -10.19. Company’s market capitalization is $5.21 billion.

Shares of Alcoa Inc (NYSE:AA) rose Tuesday after a J.P. Morgan analyst upgraded the aluminum producer on a forecast that a worldwide surplus of the metal will shrink.  .P. Morgan analyst Michael Gambardella said in a report Tuesday that aluminum markets are tightening after capacity cutbacks. He lifted his rating on the stock to “overweight” — equivalent to a “buy” rating — from “neutral” and raised his target price for the shares to $15 from $9.  Alcoa Inc (NYSE:AA) stock opened at $11.78 in last trading session and closed at $12.13. The 52 week range of the stock is $7.63 – $12.31 and the day range was $11.77 – $12.31.
