Linkedin Corporation Pops Up Earnings Beat (INVN, KFT, KOG, LNKD)

InvenSense Inc (NYSE:INVN) stock fell 3.10% to $16.23 in the after-hour trading. The company reported fourth quarter net revenue of $33.1 million, up 38% from $23.9 million in the year ago period. Net income was $5.9 million, as compared to $2.5 million in the same quarter of fiscal 2011. The company reported fourth quarter net income of $0.07 per share in line with analysts’ estimation of $0.07 per share.

Kraft Foods Inc (NYSE:KFT) stock declined 0.48% to $39.40 in the after-hour trading. The company posted first quarter net earnings of $813 million, or $0.46 per share, up from $799 million, or $0.45 per share, a year earlier. Excluding items, earnings were $0.57 per share. Net revenue rose 4% to $13.09 billion. Analysts were expecting earnings 0f $0.56 per share on revenue of $13.05 billion.

Looking forward, the company reconfirmed fiscal 2012 Organic Net Revenue growth of approximately 5% and Operating EPS growth of at least 9% on a constant currency basis.

Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp. (NYSE:KOG) shares climbed 0.59% to $8.54 in the after-hour trading. The company reported first-quarter net income of $1.8 million or $0.01 per share, as compared to net loss of $7.3 million or $0.04 per share last year. Revenue for the quarter was $80 million, as compared to $13 million in the same quarter a year ago. Analysts expected earnings of $0.10 per share and revenue of $96.40 million for the quarter.

Linkedin Corporation (NYSE:LNKD) stock surged 9.39% to $119.68 in the after-hour trading. The company posted first-quarter profit of $5 million, or $0.04 a share, up from $2.1 million, or break-even on a per-share basis, in the period a year earlier. Excluding special items, earnings rose to $0.15 a share. Revenue was $188.5 million, up 101% from the same quarter last year.  Analysts had expected earnings of $0.09 a share on revenue of $178.58 million.

The company expects second quarter revenue to range in between $210-$215 million, expects adjusted EBITDA to range in between $40-$42 million. Analysts were expecting the company to report revenues of $208 million and EBITDA of $40 million for the second quarter of 2012.

Moreover, the company also agreed to acquire SlideShare, for approximately $118.75 million, in a combination of approximately 45% cash and approximately 55% stock.
