American equities advanced on Friday, scoring rally for a third straight week after strong earnings from General Electric Co. (GE) and optimistic news about the U.S. debt-ceiling talks.

Cimatron Ltd. (NASDAQ:CIMT) jumped to new high on Friday, leading top gainers on Wall Street a day after a Seeking Alpha article considered it one among the three most exciting upcoming stocks involved in the 3D printing industry.

Life Technologies Corp. (NASDAQ:LIFE) scored best price on record after the company was believed to be seeking potential buyers.

Jaguar Mining Inc (USA) (NYSE:JAG) rallied more than 10% after its output level met annual targets.

James River Coal Company (NASDAQ:JRCC) soared 10.10% after Sterne Agee predicted a cyclical pricing recovery for coal, led by encouraging inventory trends. The new also lifted Arch Coal Inc (NYSE:ACI) up 7.75%.

Office Depot Inc (NYSE:ODP) extended rally, beating 52-week high on Goldman Sachs Group Inc. comments that Online sales of office supplies in January will see a big pickup.

U.S. Energy Corp. (NASDAQ:USEG) advanced 9.15% after a Seeking Alpha article claimed the company has major growth prospect and even takeover potential.

Morgan Stanley (NYSE:MS) broke 1-year high on fourth-quarter profit and strong revenue.
Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) increased 6.63% on a plan to sell its U.S. headquarters at 550 Madison Avenue for $1.1 billion.

The Geo Group, Inc. (NYSE:GEO) marked new high as its board initiated a quarterly dividend after obtaining real-estate investment trust status, as of Jan. 1.

Move Inc. (NASDAQ:MOVE) traded 6.32% higher and DURECT Corporation (NASDAQ:DRRX) gained 6.19%.
State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) was another new high-price achiever after earnings release and a plan to reduce 630 positions.

Hovnanian Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:HOV) closed 5.88% up on housing data.

The Goldfield Corporation (NYSEAMEX:GV) added 5.88% following a hit to new high and scored 4th gain in a row.

Rockwood Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:ROC) rose 5.54% after analysts at Credit Suisse lifted their target price on the ROC stock to $65.00.

Gevo, Inc. (NASDAQ:GEVO), Quicksilver Resources Inc (NYSE:KWK) and Solazyme Inc (NASDAQ:SZYM) each advanced over 5.3% while BGC Partners, Inc. (NASDAQ:BGCP), Gencorp Inc (NYSE:GY), Telephone & Data Systems, Inc. (NYSE:TDS), Apollo Global Management LLC (NYSE:APO) and OfficeMax Incorporated (NYSE:OMX) all rose between 4.15% and 4.80%.

Schlumberger Limited. (NYSE:SLB) jumped 4.27% after fourth-quarter earnings release.

3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) increased 4.23% to hit 12-month high on a blog post about 3-D printing.

CONSOL Energy Inc. (NYSE:CNX) added 4.22% after its fourth quarter gas output saw a rise of 5.3% versus the year earlier.

United Microelectronics Corp (ADR) (NYSE:UMC) and Joe’s Jeans Inc. (NASDAQ:JOEZ) both were up 4.2%.

J.C. Penney Company, Inc. (NYSE:JCP) recorded solid gains after Bloomberg reported that PVH Corp. (PVH)’s new Izod stores at J.C. Penney Co. (JCP) were a hit with customers.

Nabors Industries Ltd. (NYSE:NBR), Weatherford International Ltd (NYSE:WFT), Baker Hughes Incorporated (NYSE:BHI), Synovus Financial Corp. (NYSE:SNV), Safeway Inc. (NYSE:SWY), E TRADE Financial Corporation (NASDAQ:ETFC) and McDermott International (NYSE:MDR) all were up in a range of 3-4%.

Turning to actively gaining stocks, Research In Motion Limited (USA) (NASDAQ:RIMM) jumped 6%, General Electric Company (NYSE:GE) was up 3.47% and Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) rose 3.31% while Synovus Financial Corp. (NYSE:SNV) topped 52-week high and Genworth Financial Inc (NYSE:GNW) added about 3%.

Using RSI(14) indicatorCorporation (NYSE:BSX), Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN), Realty Income Corp (NYSE:O), American Realty Capital Trust Inc (NASDAQ:ARCT) and The Blackstone Group L.P. (NYSE:BX) all were found in overbought territory.
