Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) wishes to use lightning to charge phone

Lightning may not hit the same place two times for this reason a group of scientists from the University Of Southampton in collaboration with Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) is trying to find out the option to use the energy of lightning to charge a mobile device. It looks terrible but the scientists have already done this experiment.

The team first produces an alternating current using a transformer In order to make a “lightning bolt” for their experiment. They then directed that current between a gap that was as small as an inch thick, rolling 200,000 volts well inside the usual strength of a typical lightning hit in the form of a bolt of electricity. The signal was then shifted into another controlling transformer, where it can charge the battery of a Nokia Lumia 925.

Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK)’s vice president of sales and marketing, Chris Weber said that this experiment has the capability to bring new concepts in relation to how charging of our phones takes place in the future and Nokia become the first company introduce wireless charging into our products. This research revealed that one day we will use lightning hit for our own personal use.

One of the researchers of the project, Neil Palmer, said Nokia has offered them with the original idea for the test. This is not astonishing that this idea comes from Nokia, as the company is already known for moving beyond its boundaries and continually researching new ideas and technologies.

Palmer said that the introduction of the Nokia device allowed the battery to be charged as it is capable of to steady the signal of the lightning. This is important to note because it falsified the argument that lightning energy is too changeable. He said by using this innovation devices can be charged with a current that pass through the air.
