    Syntroleum Corp (NASDAQ:SYNM) jumped 11.24% after a Frobes article that the upcoming Saturday Mazda will be using Syntroleum diesel at Dayton Speedway in a demonstration of their new vehicles.

    Cimatron Ltd. (NASDAQ:CIMT) hit 10-year high and extended three-day winning streak to close the day 16.58% higher.

    Keryx Biopharmaceuticals (NASDAQ:KERX) jumped 15.86% after a Seeking Alpha article speculated positive results for the company’s Zerenex.
    seacube container leasing ltd (NYSE:BOX) rose to its best since market debut on a plan to sell itself to Canada’s largest single-profession pension plan for $23 a share.

    Hansen Medical, Inc. (NASDAQ:HNSN), A.P. Pharma, Inc. (OTC:APPA), Centrais Eletricas Brasileiras SA (ADR) (NYSE:EBR.B), OM Group, Inc. (NYSE:OMG) and The Goldfield Corporation (NYSEAMEX:GV) each gained more than 11% while JA Solar Holdings Co., Ltd. (ADR) (NASDAQ:JASO), Celsion Corporation (NASDAQ:CLSN) and Yingli Green Energy Hold. Co. Ltd. (ADR) (NYSE:YGE) all added at-least 10%.
    Solar stocks including Trina Solar Limited (ADR) (NYSE:TSL), LDK Solar Co., Ltd (ADR)(NYSE:LDK), SunPower Corporation (NASDAQ:SPWR) and First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) recorded solid gains after U.S. President Barack Obama called for the development of sustainable energy, improving the prospect for panel manufacturers.

    Radian Group Inc. (NYSE:RDN) broke 52-week high after its subsidiary Radian Guaranty Inc. launched MI rate finder app codenamed Radian Rates for Android devices on Google Play.

    North American Palladium Ltd (USA) (NYSEAMEX:PAL) rebounded from early decline on Tuesday to finish the trade 7.27% higher after Dave Langille, CPA, CMA, was appointed as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the Company, effective January 22, 2013.

    Seagate Technology PLC (NASDAQ:STX) marked its best close since December 2002 and Western Digital Corp. (NASDAQ:WDC) hit its top price in more than 15 years for no obvious reason. However, both are near to release financial results.

    MBIA Inc. (NYSE:MBI) and Great Panther Silver Ltd (USA) (NYSEAMEX:GPL) both added 7.1% while Goodrich Petroleum Corporation (NYSE:GDP) and Spirit Realty Capital Inc (NYSE:SRC) rose around 6.9%.

    Frontline Ltd. (NYSE:FRO), MGIC Investment Corp. (NYSE:MTG) and 3D Systems Corporation (NYSE:DDD) all ranged between 6% and 6.5% on above-normal volume.

    R.R. Donnelley & Sons Company (NASDAQ:RRD) was up prior to trade ex-dividend on January 23, 2013.

    Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) rose 5.12%, scoring third gain in a row after decision to sell its U.S. headquarters at 550 Madison Avenue for $1.1 billion.

    Magnum Hunter Resources Corp (NYSE:MHR) advanced 5.09% after unveiling 2013 drilling plans to initiate developing its substantial Utica leasehold position in Ohio.

    State Street Corporation (NYSE:STT) jumped to new high after JP Morgan upgraded the stock to Neutral from Underweight and lifted the price target from $46.50 to $50.50.

    Some other new high price achievers were Newcastle Investment Corp. (NYSE:NCT), Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSEAMEX:LNG), Marathon Petroleum Corp (NYSE:MPC), Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (NYSE:COG) and The Allstate Corporation (NYSE:ALL).

    Volume gainer Research In Motion Limited (USA) (NASDAQ:RIMM) also set new 52-week high after CEI said that the company will look into strategic alliances with other technology companies following the release of its new BlackBerry 10 models.

    More among active stocks, Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Inc. (NYSE:FCX) gained 4.61%, Yamana Gold Inc. (USA) (NYSE:AUY) added 4.44%, Alpha Natural Resources, Inc. (NYSE:ANR) increased 4.19%, Health Management Associates, Inc. (NYSE:HMA) rose 3.86%, Pitney Bowes Inc. (NYSE:PBI) rallied 3.7% and Avon Products, Inc. (NYSE:AVP) closed 3.69% higher.
