    Kohl’s (NYSE:KSS) Falls On Disappointing Sales Data

    Lions Gate Entertainment Corp (USA) (NYSE:LGF) escalated 1.17% to $13.0. The Company reported fourth quarter EPS of ($0.17) versus $0.34 in the prior year period. Revenue for the quarter was $645.2 million versus the consensus estimate of $618.81 million.
    Liberty Media Corp (Capital) (NASDAQ:LMCA) went down .97% to $82.89. The Company intends to convert half the preferred stock that it owns in Sirius into common shares. This will give Liberty a total of 32% of the common stock. The Company has filed a new petition with U.S. regulators relating to the control of Sirius XM Radio Inc.

    NIKE Inc (NYSE:NKE) slipped 1.28% to $106.85. The Company announced that it intends to divest two of its wholly owned affiliate brands – Cole Haan and Umbro. This will help to sharpen its focus on driving growth in the NIKE, Jordan, Converse and Hurley brands. Divesting will allow the Company to focus resources on the highest-potential opportunities for NIKE Inc to continue to drive sustainable, profitable growth for our shareholders.

    Ross Stores Inc (NASDAQ:ROST) went up 0.30% to $62.74. The Company reported that sales increased 13% to $746 million for the month of May 2012. Comparable store sales for the month grew 8%. Sales rose 13% to $3.103 billion for the 17 weeks.

    Kohl’s Corporation (NYSE:KSS) decreased 5.63% to $46.07 after the Company announced comparable store sales. Total sales decreased 2.6% and comparable store sales decreased 4.2% for the month of May 2012. Total sales increased 0.8% and comparable store sales decreased 0.9% for the year-to-date period.

    The TJX Companies Inc (NYSE:TJX) went up 1.55% to $41.97 after the Company announced sales results for the month of May. Sales rose 10% to $1.9 billion. The 17-week period sales increased 11% to $7.7 billion. Consolidated comparable store sales increased 8% for May. Consolidated comparable store sales also increased 8% for the 17-week period.
