    News Highlights: 35 noteworthy gainers on Wall Street

    K Swiss Inc (NASDAQ:KSWS) was the biggest mover on Thursday, hitting new 52-week high to end the day 47.65% higher after South Korean firm E.Land World Ltd. agreed to buy the company for $170 million.

    China Auto Logistics Inc (NASDAQ:CALI) soared 45.91%, Crosshair Energy Corp (USA) (NYSEAMEX:CXZ) was up 20% and EDUCATION HOLDINGS 1 (PINK:REVU) rose 24%.[article_detail_ad_1]

    NewLead Holdings Ltd (NASDAQ:NEWL) jumped 22.66% on an $11.0 million deal to acquire title and excavation rights in properties containing 18.6 million tons of expected coal reserves.
    The Goldfield Corporation (NYSEAMEX:GV) scored third gain in a row.

    Uranium Resources, Inc. (NASDAQ:URRE) surged 11.08% after appointing Mark K Wheatley as independent director.

    Amarin Corporation plc (ADR) (NASDAQ:AMRN) rallied 10.5% after receiving a notice of allowance (NOA) from the US Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) for its claims related to Vascepa and FDA-approved MARINE indication.

    USEC Inc. (NYSE:USU) increased 10.03% after an SEC filing revealed that the Bethesda, Md.-based maker of nuclear fuel has suspended the annual incentive and long-term incentive programs for its top executives and instead offered a lower target bonus to CEO John Welch and four others.

    CBS Corporation (NYSE:CBS) skyrocketed to new high on a plan to partially convert its billboard division into a real estate investment trust (REIT) and was looking for a potential buyer for the European and Asian parts of the division.

    The news lifted shares of Clear Channel Outdoor Holdings, Inc. (NYSE:CCO) to an eight-month high.

    Nu Skin Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE:NUS) advanced 7.62% after lifting its fourth-quarter profit and sales outlook.

    ASML Holding N.V. (ADR) (NASDAQ:ASML) broke 52-week high after providing comments on FY 2013 sales forecast and issued better-than-expected Q1 2013 revenue guidance.

    KLA-Tencor Corporation (NASDAQ:KLAC)’s 7% rally was attributed to positive outlook from ASML.
    Canadian Solar Inc. (NASDAQ:CSIQ) rose 6.73% after Nomura upgraded the stock to a buy rating.

    Bank of Ireland (ADR) (NYSE:IRE) and Primoris Services Corp (NASDAQ:PRIM) both hit new highs.
    Gevo, Inc. (NASDAQ:GEVO), Corinthian Colleges Inc (NASDAQ:COCO), Headwaters Inc (NYSE:HW), Bazaarvoice Inc (NASDAQ:BV) and Denison Mines Corp (USA) (NYSEAMEX:DNN) all gained between 6% and 7%.

    The Hain Celestial Group, Inc. (NASDAQ:HAIN), Francesca’s Holdings Corp (NASDAQ:FRAN), HCA Holdings Inc (NYSE:HCA), Tyson Foods, Inc. (NYSE:TSN), PNC Financial Services (NYSE:PNC) and SandRidge Energy Inc. (NYSE:SD) all were below 6% gainers.

    Turning to active stocks, Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE) was hot after CEO Kazuo Hirai said that the company is on the right track for a comeback. Today, the struggling Japanese electronics and entertainment company unveiled a plan to sell its US headquarters in Manhattan for $1.1 billion as part of a move to strengthen financial position.

    PulteGroup, Inc. (NYSE:PHM) jumped to new high after the U.S. Commerce Department reported housing starts rose to a 954,000 annual rate in December, the best in four years and higher versus 890,000 the previous month. The news also gave a boost to shares of Toll Brothers Inc (NYSE:TOL), Standard Pacific Corp. (NYSE:SPF) Gafisa SA (ADR) (NYSE:GFA) and Lennar Corporation (NYSE:LEN).

    Office Depot Inc (NYSE:ODP) surpassed previous 52-week high and extended rally after Goldman Sachs Group Inc. predicted Online sales of office supplies will mark a big pickup in January.
    Fifth Third Bancorp (NASDAQ:FITB) traded with an unusual volume to mark new high on 30 percent jump in 4Q earnings that beat Wall Street view.

    H&R Block, Inc. (NYSE:HRB) and Big Lots, Inc. (NYSE:BIG) both gained 4.9%.
