PulteGroup Inc Reports Higher Profit (PHM, SVU, SAN, PSTI, EQIX)
PulteGroup Inc (NYSE:PHM) jumped up 14.57% to $11.48. The company reported second EPS of $0.11, beating the analyst estimate of $0.05. Revenue for the quarter was $1 billion versus the consensus estimate of $1.11 billion. Net new orders increased 32% to 5,578. The Company’s quarter-end backlog was up 31% to 7,560 homes with a value of $2.2 billion.
SUPERVALU INC (NYSE:SVU) increased 13.87% to $1.97. According to a regulatory filing, the board of directors approved issuing non-qualified stock options and retention agreements to certain executives.
Banco Santander S.A. (ADR) (NYSE:SAN) climbed up 9.52% to $5.52. Banco Santander SA will sell a 7.8% stake in Santander Chile STG.SN worth around $1 billion dollars. This is done to boost core capital.
Pluristem Therapeutics Inc (NASDAQ:PSTI) went up 3.54% to $3.46. The Company will work with a U.S. National Institutes of Health unit to evaluate the Company’s PLX cells for the treatment of radiation exposure. NIH’s allergy and infectious-disease division is giving access to its laboratories for the research. The studies will look at the treatment’s effectiveness in several versions of acute radiation syndrome.
Equinix Inc (NASDAQ:EQIX) increased 11.25% to $179.71 after the Company released second quarter results. Net profit was $36.45 million or $0.73 per share compared to $30.73 million or $0.64 per share in the previous year period. However, analysts expected the Company to earn $0.60 per share for the quarter. Total revenues increased 18% to $466.26 million.
The Company expects third quarter revenues to be in the range of $492.0 million to $498.0 million. Analysts currently expect revenues of $485.16 million for the quarter.Equinix expects revenue to be greater than $1.92 billion for 2012. Analysts currently expect revenues of $1.91 billion for the year. Nomura Securities maintained a buy rating on the stock with a price target of $210.00.
