    On Monday, General Motors Company (GM) announced that it was expanding its recalls by 1.5 million, after recalling 1.6 million vehicles last month. General Motors recalled the first lot of cars due to faulty ignition switches that were related to 12 deaths, according to a Reuters article. In addition to the faulty ignition switches, GM has admitted that brake parts and airbag harnesses are also reasons for the recalls. General Motors just reinstated its dividend in January, which was its first dividend since the company emerged from bankruptcy. Amid the recalls, GM says it will take a $300 million charge for the first quarter, which will be needed to deal with the costs from the recalls. In addition to the $300 million charge, Reuters reported that the company was also hit with a class action suit that was related to the ignition switches. General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) shares moved up 1.15% in current trading session and was trading at $35.03, while trading in range of $34.50 – $35.13. General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) year to date (YTD) performance is -14.51%.

    In an effort to capture market share from companies like GameStop Corp. (NYSE: GME), superstore Wal-Mart Inc. (NYSE: WMT) announced plans to create its own video game trade-in program. Wal-Mart will launch its program on March 26 through its network of nearly 3,100 stores and will complement the company’s mobile device trade-in platform launched in 2013.
