    Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) appears to be scaling back its lofty TV industry plans. In the current discussions, which involve at least two big media companies, Apple envisages working with cable companies, rather than competing against them, the people said. For programming, it would rely on cable providers to acquire programming rights from media companies, rather than acquire them on its own, the people said. Apple might consider seeking some rights directly in the future, one of the people said. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock opened at $536.95 in last trading session, and closed at $535.92, trading in the range of $533.24 – $539.56. The stock showed a positive weekly performance of 5.18%.

    Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG)  announced in a Securities and Exchange Commission document filed today that its acquisition of Nest Labs Inc. officially closed on Feb. 7, less than a month after the deal was originally announced. Prior to the transaction, Google held a 12 percent ownership in Nest, but its $3.2 billion cash purchase gives it 100 percent of the smart thermostat and smoke alarm maker. Google Inc. (NASDAQ:GOOG) shares closed at $1,186.69 on last trade day, by losing -0.29%. Stock 52 week range is $761.26 – $1,191.87. Company’s market capitalization is $398.53 billion.

    Liberty Media’s push to help Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR) take over Time Warner Cable got more serious this week. Stamford, Conn.-based Charter (Nasdaq: CHTR) has identified a full slate of candidates that it plans to run for election and replace the entire Time Warner Cable board. Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR) stock decreased -0.24% and finished the last session at $137.57. The EPS of the stock remained -2.45. Company’s market capitalization is $14.33 billion.

    Wall Street edged lower as The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) cut its earnings forecast because of the recent slides in emerging markets currencies, prompting concern more US companies will follow suit. In afternoon trading in New York, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 0.24 percent, the Standard & Poor’s 500 inched 0.01 percent lower. The Nasdaq Composite Index added 0.20 percent. The Procter & Gamble Company (NYSE:PG) stock opened at $78.13 in last trading session and closed at $77.49. The 52 week range of the stock is $73.61 – $85.82 and the day range was $77.06 – $78.53.
