    Alarm bells went off a week ago at Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR) when emails and phone calls to executives at Comcast Corp. went unanswered. Charter had been hot to buy Time Warner Cable Inc. Cable legend John Malone, who controls Charter’s largest shareholder, and Comcast Chief Executive Brian Roberts had talked several times by phone, including around Christmas. Mr. Roberts indicated he was willing to work together on a deal for the struggling company, according to people familiar with the talks. Charter Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ:CHTR) stock opened at $124.94 in last trading session, and closed at $128.91, trading in the range of $124.76 – $130.00. The stock showed a negative weekly performance of -5.56%.

    Cabelas Inc (NYSE:CAB)’s, an outdoor-gear retailer, cited a slide in sales of guns and ammunition when it reported Thursday a decline in fourth-quarter sales, excluding newly opened or closed stores. Cabelas Inc (NYSE:CAB) stock finished the last session at $64.26. The EPS of the stock remained 2.95. Company’s market capitalization is $4.54 billion.

    Blaming “execution issues” in its new oil and gas division, URS Corp (NYSE:URS) announced that key results for its fourth-quarter and for its fiscal year are worse than expected and that it was lowering its guidance for 2014.URS said that it expects 2013 revenue to be $11 billion, which analysts said was “at the low end” of previous guidance of between $11 billion and $11.5 billion. The firm’s fourth-quarter expected earnings per share of between 13 cents and 23 cents was well below analysts’ $1.08-per-share expectation, said Jamie Cook, head sector analyst for Credit Suisse. URS Corp (NYSE:URS) stock opened at $41.64 in last trading session and closed at $42.51. The 52 week range of the stock is $40.36 – $55.79 and the day range was $41.62 – $43.53.
