City National Corp (NYSE:CYN) reported a second-quarter net income of $54.8 million or $1.01 per share, as compared to $47.5 million or $0.88 per share in the prior year quarter. Total revenue for the second quarter of 2012 was $291.2 million, up 3% from $283 million in the comparable quarter last year. Analysts expected earnings of $0.88 per share on revenues of $274.36 million for the quarter

Halliburton Company (NYSE:HAL) shares gained 0.33% to $30.31 in the after hour trading after the company said that that a Texas court approved a settlement in a three-year old lawsuit brought by shareholders who accused board members of facilitating illegal activity in Iran, Nigeria and the U.S.

Dole Food Company, Inc. (NYSE:DOLE) reported second quarter comparable income from continuing operations of $70.8 million or $0.80 per share, as compared to $88.6 million or $1.01 per share in the same period last year. Income from continuing operations was $65.5 million or $0.74 per share, compared to $82.7 million or $0.94 per share last year. Analysts expected the company to earn $0.72 per share for the second quarter. Revenues declined 10% to $1.72 billion from $1.92 billion last year. Analysts expected revenues of $1.82 billion.
Gardner Denver, Inc. (NYSE:GDI) stock increased 1.67% to $49.99 in the after hour trading after the company reported a second quarter profit of $75.3 million or $1.51 per share, as compared to $67.1 million or $1.27 per share in the comparable quarter last year. Revenues totaled $613.0 million, up 0.4% from $610.7 million in the same quarter last year. Analysts expected the company to earn $1.42 per share on revenues of $626.08 million.
