Hess Corporation(NYSE:HES) disclosed Friday that it has completed the previously announced sale of its Pangkah asset in Indonesia’s East Java Sea to a subsidiary of the country’s natural gas distribution and transportation company PT Perusahaan Gas Negara’s unit PT Saka Energi Indonesia, which exercised its pre-emption rights, for a total after tax consideration of $650 million comprising the sale of equity interests in certain holding entities and certain inter-company debts. Hess Corp. (NYSE:HES) stock opened at $81.11 in last session, and closed at $80.90, while the day range of stock is $80.50 – $81.46. The stock showed a positive weekly performance of 0.77%.

BP plc (NYSE:BP), Europe’s second-biggest oil company, retreated after losing its appeal to alter the settlement that doles out money related to the 2010 Gulf oil spill. BP plc (ADR) (NYSE:BP) stock opened at $49.12, in last session and closed at $49.20, by gaining 0.72%. The 52 week range of the stock is $39.99 – $49.20. Company’s market capitalization is $153.85 billion.

Total SA (ADR) (NYSE:TOT) became the largest oil company to invest in British shale gas through a $47 million deal to take stakes in two exploration areas in eastern England. Total SA (ADR) (NYSE:TOT) stock advanced 0.98% and finished the last session at $59.49. The EPS of the stock remained 5.71. Company’s market capitalization is $134.94 billion.

Marathon Petroleum Corp. (NYSE:MPC) was upgraded by Zacks from an “underperform” rating to a “neutral” rating in a research note issued to investors on Wednesday, Analyst Ratings.Net reports. Marathon Petroleum Corp (NYSE:MPC) stock opened the session at $91.00, and closed the session at $90.97. The 52 week range of the stock remained $61.32 – $92.73 and the day range was $89.24 – $91.86.
