Stocks Touched 52 Week Highs: Caterpillar (NYSE:CAT), Dr Pepper Snapple Group (NYSE:DPS), Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW), Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL)

Caterpillar Inc. (NYSE:CAT) offshore tax strategies will come under scrutiny on Tuesday at a U.S. Senate hearing expected to examine dealings by the world’s largest mining and construction equipment maker in Switzerland, Bermuda and Luxembourg. With many multinationals being criticized for tax avoidance, veteran tax sleuth Senator Carl Levin will chair another session of his Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, with three current and former Caterpillar executives slated to testify. Levin’s panel dives deeper than any other on Capitol Hill into the minutia of tax law and accounting, with its Caterpillar probe expected to center on the tax aspects of Caterpillar’s corporate restructurings in the late 1990s and early 2000s. They currently have a $55.00 price target on the stock. Zacks‘s price objective points to a potential upside of 4.96% from the stock’s previous close.Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. (NYSE:DPS) shares advanced 0.43% in last trading session and ended the day on $53.95. DPS return on equity ratio is recorded as 27.30% and its return on assets is 7.40%. Dr Pepper Snapple Group Inc. Corning (NYSE:GLW) was upgraded by investment analysts at Susquehanna to a “positive” rating in a note issued to investors on Wednesday, American Banking News.com reports.Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) shares moved up 0.73% in last trading session and was closed at $20.61, while trading in range of $20.37-$20.75. Corning Incorporated (NYSE:GLW) year to date performance is 16.24%.

Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) wants to keep growing. It does not want to be known as just a database company. Oracle is of course the clear leader in the RDBMS market and its Oracle RDBMS has a 40% market share. But it is also a software provider and owns the iconic Java platform. It also wants to be a cloud provider and NoSQL database provider. Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) weekly performance is 5.52%. On last trading day company shares ended up $39.57. Oracle Corporation (NYSE:ORCL) distance from 50-day simple moving average is 4.07%. Analysts mean target price for the company is $40.49.
