Energy companies such as British Gas, EDF, EON, Scottish Power, SSE and Npower could be massively affected by the new labour plans to cap energy bills completely till 2017. The suggestions comes after statistics show that there has been an annual increase per year for the last four years from energy companies.
However, energy companies are warning that the plans could massively affect consumers in the UK, as price freezes would caused massive nationwide blackouts if plans were to take effect.
This comes amidst a huge grumble regarding the profits of energy companies, which show in 2012 to be around the £3biliion pound mark. Which raises the question, how much is too much for consumers when it comes to them spending an increased amount per year on their energy bills.
The government should look at real issues at hand which is why consumers cannot afford their energy bills. Topics such as banking regulation should be at the fore we feel of any debate regarding any government in power.
If the banks are not properly regulated, then how can there be any deterrent for bankers not to act again in a fraudulent manner.
