Alliance for Wireless Power’s major backer QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) is also taking interest in two competitor wireless-charging-standards efforts. The company announced that it joined the Wireless Power Consortium board of management On Friday, and the company also confirmed that it also joined the Power Matters Alliance on Tuesday. Qualcomm declared that both companies have announced plans to move towards loosely coupled wireless power similar to Qualcomm’s WiPower.
In a statement to AllThingsD QUALCOMM, Inc. (NASDAQ:QCOM) said that after joining it will bring its proficiency in resonant wireless power and to look more towards harmonization across wireless power standards. It is belief of Qualcomm’s that the other bodies can influence the work in resonant wireless charging which has been done by the Alliance for Wireless Power.
These three wireless-charging groups have to some extent different capture on wireless charging also they go beyond in membership. The WPC is the leader to shipped devices on the other hand the Power Matters group has got support from companies such as Starbucks.
After all the bad news from BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) there is also some rare good news. The good news is that The BlackBerry’s new next-generation mobile stage has won NATO security clearance. The company said on Tuesday that its BlackBerry smartphones 10 and BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 have been received approval to get into Restricted NATO communications network.
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) has approved its devices for use by NATO employees in all 28 member states though Restricted is NATO’s fourth and lowest security category, but by winning this it open the doors for BlackBerry.
