Tech Stocks – Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL), Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB), Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)

At a time when Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is being accused of not being creative enough, it seems the iPhone creator is busy working on a smartwatch that will be powered by a new kind of high-tech battery.  According to the New York Times, Apple has been quietly recruiting engineers from Tesla and Toyota who specialize in designing new batteries that utilize various innovative technologies. That’s because the winner of the upcoming smartwatch war will be the company’s with the lightest, longest lasting battery pack.  Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) stock opened at $505.85 in last trading session, and closed at $508.79, trading in the range of $502.76 – $509.46. The stock showed a negative weekly performance of 0.45%.

On Monday, Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) launched a new app, named Paper, for consuming stories, photos and video. Last week, Flipboard unveiled an upgrade to its digital magazine that organizes Web content even more like the sections in a print publication.  Curling up in a chair with a cup of coffee, I’ve been trying each in half-hour bursts, to see which could best bring me up to speed. I found Paper offered a broad view on what’s popular, but not an authoritative take on my world, ranging from international events to local news. Facebook Inc (NASDAQ:FB) stock increased 2.07% and finished the last session at $62.75. The EPS of the stock remained 0.66. Company’s market capitalization is $159.82 billion.

Struggling handset developer, Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK), is offering free loans to small and medium businesses (SMBs) in the U.K., to drive Windows smartphone sales. The company will provide Windows smartphones for 30 days as a testing period to business enterprises that have at least 100 employees.

With this strategic move, Nokia is targeting businesses which operate on Microsoft systems with the aim of facilitating higher adoption of Windows smartphones. The company revealed that its U.K. B2B market share has expanded in the 5 -12% range last year. Nokia Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:NOK) shares closed at $6.78 on last trade day, by rising 1.80%. Stock 52 week range is $3.02 – $8.20. Company’s market capitalization is $25.71 billion.

BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY)should be cash flow positive by the fourth quarter of fiscal 2015 and spending may end up below previously announced plans, CIBC World Markets analyst Todd Coupland said after meeting with the company’s CFO, James Yersh. Mr. Coupland told clients that one of the most important points brought up during the Jan. 30 discussion was the anticipated reduction in the cost of goods sold in the second half of 2015 due to lower fixed royalty payments. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) stock opened at $9.05 in last trading session and closed at $9.61. The 52 week range of the stock is $5.44 – $17.22 and the day range was $9.02 – $9.68.
