Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) started doing its expansion although they haven’t yet start finishing out new massive data center in Pacific Northwest. Company operating under the pseudonym “Project Pillar” made the possible purchase of the site for Prineville data center into the city limits, reported by the Oregonian.
When negotiating with the Prinville data center deal “Maverick” was the code name used by Apple. Officials really didn’t identify the company at that time, as they had been told about all the publication dealing with the country in the past. The reason behind it is that the company did use different name at that time.
This data center can be used to support the iTunes and iClouds. Although it seems no hurdle, as it has given the parcel’s proximity to the 338,000 square foot Apple’s data center which is currently building and same tax exemptions are covering this.
Crook county assistant planning director (Phil Stenbeck) said to the local government’s efforts to zone different acre of industrial use.“ In the event that they would move forward with being more interested , we want to be in position where they could act on their request.” and they also said that “ In the past, Project Pillar has expressed a possible future interest in this property. ”
But after questioning about the Oregon data center, Apple declined to give any comments about their plans. The company is also holding the details about the expansion with Oregon data center as well. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) shares slipped -0.97%, and trading at $484.46.
