Continued strong demand for the Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) Focus, the best-selling nameplate in China last year, helped Ford China increase sales by 67 percent in February, with 73,040 vehicles sold. Ford China’s sales are up 59 percent so far for the year, with sales of 167,506 vehicles compared to the first two months of 2013. Total passenger car sales for Ford China—which include imported cars—rose 88 percent in February with 56,284 vehicles sold compared to 29,950 in February 2013. Ford has sold 128,882 passenger cars so far in 2014, up 73 percent from 74,389 vehicles sold during the same period last year. Ford Motor Company (NYSE:F) stock opened at $15.38 in last trading session, and closed at $15.63, trading in the range of $15.36 – $15.67. The stock showed a positive weekly performance of 2.42%.
General Motors Company (NYSE:GM) may increase exports of cars built in South Korea to Australia to offset production declines after the largest U.S. automaker decided to pull its Chevrolet brand from the European market. At the Geneva Motor Show, Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) announced its plan to expand its business in Europe through an extended Supercharger network, more service centers and increased number of stores. The automaker will be opening around 30 new service centers and stores across the continent. Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) stock decreased -0.86% and finished the last session at $252.66. The EPS of the stock remained -0.70. Company’s market capitalization is $31.13 billion.
Honda Motor Co Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:HMC) and its two local joint ventures sold about 40,858 automobiles in China in February, up 27.6 pc from a year earlier, the Japanese automaker said on Tuesday. That follows a 33.6 per cent year-on-year jump in January and a 60.4 per cent rise in December, reflecting a gradual recovery in sales which took a heavy beating from a surge anti-Japan sentiment following a territorial dispute between Beijing and Tokyo in late 2012. Honda Motor Co Ltd (ADR) (NYSE:HMC) stock opened at $36.64 in last trading session and closed at $36.92. The 52 week range of the stock is $35.15 – $42.96 and the day range was $36.54 – $37.03.
