Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) Down on Earning Report While Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) Gain On Financial Result

Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) has declared decrease 10% to $5.10 billion in investment banking revenue without including accounting charge, in contrast to $5.64 billion in the same quarter in 2012.

The bank declared a loan loss reserve of $675 million, in contrast to $1.5 billion in same quarter in 2012. 38% to $2.4 billion were declared in the net credit losses, from same quarter last year, but net income higher in contrast to last year, the Q3 2012 report contain big charge that the bank took when it get rid of its stake in Morgan Stanley Smith Barney, which is a retail brokerage, but this deal was lower than bank’s estimate.

While on Monday the bank said its Q3 profit raised $1 on each share to $3.2 billion, in contrast to profit of 15% on each share to $468 million same quarter last year. The firm also added its adjusted earnings on each share were $1.02, lower than analyst estimates.

The financial company’s net revenue was increase 30% to $17.9 billion, in contrast to last year. Analysts at FactSet predict that the banks will earn $1.05 on each share with revenue estimate of $18.58 billion. Citigroup Inc (NYSE:C) shares fell -1.27% to $49.00 in current session.

Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) profit increase $1.04 on each share to $2.98 billion in third-quarter report, in contrast to$1.05 on each share to $2.97 billion in same period last year. While after excluding tax special items the company profit increase $1.36 per share.

The pharmaceuticals firm declared that, its revenue increase to $17.58 billion, in contrast to $17.05 billion a year earlier. According to FactSet, the company expected earnings were $1.32 a share with revenue estimate of $17.45 billion.

The pharmaceuticals and consumer goods firm said today it look ahead to complete year EPS from $5.44 to $5.49, due to better performance in its Motrin analgesics, Tylenol analgesics, and Aveeno skin-care products. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) shares increase 1.29% to $90.97 in current session.
