The recent Green Deal and Eco deal ( energy companies obligation) has already helped thousands of homeowners claim free grants to help improve their overall energy costs thanks to the Green Deal and Eco Deal.
With millions of fuel poor deprived areas, it is clear that something had to be done to help aide those who most needed help.
Green Deal and Eco Deal, helps install insulation measures that would otherwise cost the homeowners thousands, and allows them to gain these measures completely free.
Measures like loft insulation, cavity wall insulation under the Eco Deal do not cost the homeowner a penny and allows them to also receive their own EPC or energy performance certificate that would otherwise cost them £60+ and is now a legal requirement for every homeowner to have.
Under the Green Deal you can have an array of insulation measures however these are not free and you have to sign into a finance package to cover the costs.
Now this has never been very clear to homeowners and has left those feeling confused as to what they are signing into, however the main golden rule has stated that your finance package will never outweigh the cost of your current energy bills.
This is important as it would make no sense to want to reduce your energy bills but pay more in finance packages elsewhere.
But if you are getting double glazing etc you will reduce your monthly energy bills and still have brand new windows and the cost of the finance will never be more than your energy bills.
