(NYSE:T), the second-biggest U.S. mobile-phone carrier, approached DirecTV (DTV:US) about possibly acquiring the satellite-television company, the Wall Street Journal said, citing people familiar with the situation. It’s unclear whether the companies are in detailed talks, although DirecTV would be open to a deal, the report said, citing an unidentified person. The deal would probably be worth at least $40 billion, the Journal said. AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) shares advanced 0.79% in last trading session and ended the day on $35.70. Advanced Micro Devices (NYSE:AMD) is having a good time due to strong sales of gaming consoles. The company posted solid results for the first quarter with terrific growth in revenue and earnings. Its revenue increased 28 percent year-over-year to $1.40 billion. Advanced Micro Devices, Inc.
