Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) said the claims that it has been snooping on people’s private message are “without merit”. Facebook is being sued over claims that it has been scanning users’ private messages and passing on the information to advertisers. According to the allegations, based on independent research, Facebook scans messages that include links to other sites in order to discover what people are interested in. It then uses this information “to improve its marketing algorithms and increase its ability to profit from data about Facebook users,” so goes the lawsuit allegation. Facebook Inc. (NASDAQ:FB) stock opened at $55.02 in last trading session, and closed at $54.56, trading in the range of $54.53 – $55.65. The stock showed a negative weekly performance of -5.50%.
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) is rolling out an update to BBM for Android beta testers that adds support for voice calls and BBM Channels, but has not announced a timeline for official release.
