Sony Corporation (ADR) (NYSE:SNE)has sold more than 5.3 million PlayStation 4 game consoles globally, beating its forecast, as it prepares to release the machine in Japan. The sales were for the period through Feb. 8, the Tokyo-based company said in a statement. Sony, which released the console in the U.S. on Nov. 15, had projected it would sell 5 million consoles by the end of March. BlackBerry Ltd. (NASDAQ: BBRY) was raised to Market Perform from Underperform with a $10 price target at FBR Capital Markets. The firm is talking up the company’s liquid assets and early momentum acting as a buffer against downside. The firm did warn that a meaningful turnaround is still likely quarters away. BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) stock opened at $9.27 in last trading session, and closed at $8.98, trading in the range of $8.95 – $9.33. The stock showed a negative weekly performance of -8.65%.
Tesla Motors Inc (NASDAQ:TSLA) enthusiasts drove their electric cars to Olympia on Monday to protest legislation they said would prevent the company from opening and operating additional facilities in Washington state. Tesla lobbyist Daniel Witt told supporters at the Capitol that under legislation currently proposed, Tesla Motors Inc. would not be able to expand beyond the two stores and service centers it operates in Seattle and Bellevue.
