Microsoft Corporation(NASDAQ:MSFT) rumored to be testing its self made Windows 8 device
Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) rises 0.67% amongst rumors that the Company might be building its own Windows Phone 8 smartphone.
The Company that had failed to excite the customers with its launch of Windows 8 phone in the last month with other similar launch by rivals Apple, Samsung, Nokia; is now said to intended to “compete directly with high-end devices” like the iPhone 5 and the Samsung Galaxy S III.
Currently, the windows 8 phone devices consist of hardware designed by partners. It is also being hushed that the new Microsoft-made Windows Phone 8 devices will be an addition to the “Surface” brand. The Microsoft made devices are said to be in the testing phase and will be out on the shelves by the first half of 2013.
The new device is said to be having certain uniqueness about it in contrast to the currently available Windows 8 devices but the details regarding its features or looks is still not known.
Microsoft also launches its own tablet this month, the first time Microsoft is branding its own computer hardware. The Company might evade on the option of selling its devices directly to its customers like Google.
Shares of Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) inched up 0.67% to $29.86 at a trading volume of 46.66 million shares, higher than average trading volume 41.56 million shares
