Nokia (NYSE:NOK) decides not to provide open access to Navifirm after January, Lumia 920T doing well in China

has apparently unveiled a plan to restrict access to Navifirm, an online firmware repository which has, for many times, been the source of early glimpses of updates for Nokia hardware, much before the company formally rolls out the update to consumer handsets.

Smartmobil Nokia reports the Finnish company will implement access control to lock down free access to its firmware repository at the end of January. Nokia users who were looking to access the firmware releases via the company’s online repository will be disappointed to know that Nokia (NOK) will curb the open access to only those with a “Nokia Online” login to access both application and device software downloads.[article_detail_ad_1]

The Nokia stock got a boost in premarket session after its Chinese store in Shanghai got some new shipments as Lumia 920T Windows Phone 8 devices were sold out in 20 minutes after the launch.
