Patch is Weighing Down AOL (NYSE: AOL)

AOL Inc. (NYSE: AOL) had increased its third quarter revenue in advertising sales. Its  advertising business, specifically for video ads, is growing at a good pace. The company’s revenues were up 6 percent compared to the same period last year to $561 million.

However, you can’t really have everything. Besides the good news there is one thing weighing down the company from making considerable gains in earnings for the quarter.Tim Armstrong’s last big gamble  the local news platform Patch is not doing good.

Patch.com is a US local news and information platform owned by AOL (NYSE: AOL). Patch as a media dais  has come under analysis and scrutiny from a group of media personalities. And now, investors expected cuts at Patch because they have long eyed it as a problem pustule for AOL (NYSE: AOL).
