Perfect World Co & Comverge Soar On Solid Q4 Earnings

Perfect World Co., Ltd. (ADR) (NASDAQ: PWRD) Shares are soaring in the pre-market session as the company reported solid revenue in fourth-quarter thanks to impressive demand for its multiplayer role-playing game “Zhu Xian,”

The company reported a profit of CNY260 million ($41.3 million), or CNY5.45 (87 cents) an American depositary share, as compared to CNY125.2 million, or CNY2.36 an ADS, in the same period last year. Analysts expected the company to report CNY3.40. Revenue grew 32% to CNY776.4 million ($123.4 million) during the quarter, beating company’s target of 776.4 million yuan ($123.4 million).

Looking forward, the company expects first quarter revenue to be in between CNY714 million to CNY753 million, in line with estimates of CNY726.5 million.

Shares of PWRD are up over 305 in the pre market session at $16.37. The stock has climbed over 20% so far this year.

Comverge, Inc. (NASDAQ: COMV) Shares are showing buying action after the company posted better-than-estimated fourth-quarter profit and provided solid full year outlook.

The company reported fourth quarter net income of $4.9 million or $0.18 a share, reversing a year ago loss of $9.4 million or $0.38 a share. Revenues declined 1% to $36.7 million, as compared to $37.2 million in the year ago period. Analysts were expecting the company to report earnings of a penny on revenues of $39.20 million.

Going ahead, the company projects to generate revenues to be in the range $145.0-$170.0 million and adjusted EBITDA to be in the range $3.0-$10.0 million in 2012. Analysts are expecting the company to report revenue of $155.0 million and EBITDA of $4.0 million for fiscal 2012.

Shares of COMV are up 17 cents or 9.76% in the pre-open session at $1.80.
