Pre Market Actions (DGSE, SRSL, DTSI, FSLR, BDSI, LNG)
DGSE Companies, Inc. (NYSEAMEX:DGSE) shares are hammered down by about 9% in the pre-market session after saying it found accounting irregularities in financial results going back to 2007, prompting the jewelry and precious metals trader to hire forensic accountants.
SRS Labs, Inc. (NASDAQ:SRSL) shares soared in the pre-open session as the company has been agreed to be acquired by DTS Inc. (NASDAQ:DTSI) in a cash-and-stock transaction valued at $9.50 per share, or a total of around $148 million in aggregate equity value, including acquired net cash of approximately $38 million as of December 31, 2011.
First Solar, Inc. (NASDAQ:FSLR) shares are trading higher by over 3% as the company took major restructuring initiatives to boost its bottom line. The company is targeting to reduce its current work force by 2,000 jobs or 30%. The company also has a plan to close its manufacturing operations in Frankfurt, Germany, in the fourth quarter and intends to indefinitely idle four production lines at its manufacturing center in Kulim, Malaysia, on May 1, the Tempe, Arizona-based company.
BioDelivery Sciences International, Inc.(NASDAQ:BDSI) announced that the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has formally awarded BDSI’s patent No. 13/184306, “Transmucosal Delivery Devices with Enhanced Uptake,” which extends the patent protection for BDSI’s BioErodible MucoAdhesive products, BEMA Buprenorphine and BEMA Buprenorphine/Naloxone, by seven years to 2027. The USPTO had issued a Notice of Allowance to BDSI for this patent as previously disclosed in February of this year.
Cheniere Energy, Inc. (NYSEAMEX:LNG) Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. (NYSEAMEX:CQP) and continued to move higher in the pre-market session by an announcement that a project to construct natural gas liquefaction facilities is a go. Shares of CQP are up 4.73% and LNG are up over 7.50%. Shares of LNG have jumped over 13% over the past one week.
