Pacific Sunwear Reports Lower Loss (SVM, YOKU, PSUN)
Silvercorp Metals Inc. (USA) (NYSE:SVM) shares increased 2.41% to $5.52 in the after hour session after the company reported fourth quarter net income of $9.7 million, or $0.06 a share, as compared with profit of $12 million, or $0.07 a share, in the year-earlier period. Revenue rose 4% to $44.3 million as the company sold more silver and gold.
Youku Inc (ADR) (NYSE:YOKU) reported first-quarter net loss of RMB156.1 million or US$24.8 million, as compared to a net loss of RMB46.9 million or US$7.4 million for the same period in 2011. Loss per ADS for the first quarter amounted to RMB1.36 or US$0.22, compared to a loss of Loss per ADS of RMB 0.45 last year. Non-GAAP net loss was RMB115.4 million or US$18.3 million in the first quarter of 2012. Net revenues were RMB270.2 million or US$42.9 million in the first quarter of 2012, up 111% increase from the corresponding period in 2011. Analysts expected the company to report a loss of US$0.21 per share on revenues of US$41.21 million for the quarter.
Looking forward, the company expects second quarter year on year growth of 90%-100% in net revenues. The Company reported revenues of $30.61 million in the second quarter of 2011. Analysts are expecting the company to report revenues of $62.10 million for the second quarter of 2012.
Pacific Sunwear of California, Inc. (NASDAQ:PSUN) shares climbed 10.17% to $1.30 in the after hour session after the company reported first-quarter net loss of $15.6 million or $0.23 per share, as against $31.5 million or $0.48 per share last year. Adjusted net loss from continuing operations for the quarter narrowed to $13.7 million or $0.20 per share.
Net sales rose to $173.82 million, versus $171.88 million last year. Analysts expected loss of $0.29 per share on revenues of $169.87 million for the quarter.
Looking forward, the company expects second quarter non-GAAP net loss from continuing operations of between $(0.11) and $(0.16) per share and Same-store sales of negative 1 to plus 4%. Analysts are expecting the company to report EPS of $(0.14) for the second quarter of 2012.
